No Apology Is Necessary

Recently, veteran NBA Center Jason Collins announced that he had been a closeted homosexual for some time and decided to “come out”. In light of this declaration, corporations entities like ESPN and many other participants of the mainstream media who tend to promulgate the “acceptance” of militant homosexuality across America have decided to give primetime coverage to the announcement. Forget that Kermit Gosnell, an abortionist and probably the most notorious mass murderer in U.S. history, is currently being tried in court. That doesn’t get any press. Ignore the fact that the Boston Marathon bombers were funded by our tax money via entitlement payments. That doesn’t receive any coverage either. What garners the American media’s attention? An obscure NBA player now cast into the limelight because he has chosen to become the next poster boy for the homosexual agenda.

In The Pursuit of Everlasting Happiness

In a land as prosperous as the United States is, it is easy for a believer to fall into the trap of exalting creature comforts. This is a double edged sword that has pierced many a Christian with personal afflictions, all the while making them lose their focus on the nourishing power of the Creator. Because many continue to suffer from the dire effects that come from glorifying materialism, it is essential to revisit this biblical subject so as to, hopefully, free many plus develop a personal quarantine from the consequences of placing dependency on that which is extremely temporal.

A Night of Disappointment

A few days ago, as I was driving to work, I saw an announcement which appeared on a LED billboard that read “A Night of Hope with Joel and Victoria Osteen”. Soon enough, I began to consider the validity and ramifications of such a claim and how it detracts and therefore inhibits the effect of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in society. Once this sidetracking takes place, what naturally occurs is that a general stupor takes hold of the masses leaving them initially unwilling and ultimately unable to discern fraud – even when it is staring them right in the face.

I Don’t Care What I’ve Been Told…

From the very beginning, a battle has raged on; it has been and will continue to be a tempestuous affair between two entities. In one corner, God the Creator finds Himself prescribing the tenets beneficial to man’s own existence. On the opposite side, the created contradict those instructions and attempt to justify thru faulty rationale, alternate philosophies and behaviors detached from divine involvement. The question is, who is correct? Is it man or God that approves and defines what proper human conduct is?

The Case Against Government Intrusion in Marriage

This week, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments both in favor and against the governmental recognition of homosexual marriage. The first case involves Proposition 8, which was approved in California by the residents of the state as an amendment to their state constitution. The second case involves the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which defines marriage as being between a man and a woman. The Act, passed by Congress in 1996 and signed into law by then President Bill Clinton, also defines what benefits and exemptions married couples are to receive via federal legislation. Individuals on both sides of the ideological spectrum have shown extreme interest in the cases since it could potentially alter the social and political landscape of the United States. However, the widespread attention – in my opinion – is futile and should be discarded. As we shall discover, both factions are to blame for the corrupted state of our nation and bilateral renouncement is necessary.

The Fallacy that is Modern Day Christianity

Has Christianity fallen victim to redefinitionism? I pose the question because it seems like the original meaning has been greatly distorted. This is evidenced by the fact that most unfitting characters in the modern age designate themselves “Christian”. This sort of degradation doesn’t surprise me because I am forewarned about it by Christ. Does it offend me? Absolutely, but it does not shock my system. I say this because we live in an era where certain individuals have made it their life’s work to contradict and/or redefine anything that is godly and pure. This includes corrupting the core of the title Christian and, as we’ll see, on many occasions such individuals accomplish their task by craftily disguising themselves as sheep –when they are in fact ravenous wolves.

The Silly Excuse Called “Love”

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 2 Timothy 3:12

If I’ve heard it once, I’ve heard it a thousand times: “I’m showcasing Christ through love”. This response is the typical lukewarm Christian’s answer to the question “Are you preaching the Gospel?” As I’ll prove in the following article, it is nothing more than a pretext employed by those not wanting to cause any controversy that may hamper or negatively alter their comfortable existence. It is also the same recycled red herring used by those that claim they believe in Jesus yet espouse views that contradict the Creator’s mandates.
